What is matte paint?

Unlike gloss finishes, matte paint scatters light instead of reflecting it, which results in a rich, flat look that highlights a car’s shape and lines without glare. This effect comes from a unique clear coat that diffuses light, creating a soft, non-reflective appearance. This non-gloss clear coat also makes matte paint more delicate and susceptible to damage which is why matte paint protection is so important. Standard polishes and waxes can leave uneven spots, and even minor car paint scratches can be difficult to fix without repainting.

What does matte paint protection involve?

Our matte paint protection service is designed to preserve the unique finish while keeping it shielded from potential damage. It includes:

Decontamination & Washing

We begin with a pH-neutral snow foam and wash using matte-safe products. This avoids adding unwanted gloss or streaking the surface. Contaminants are gently removed without friction or harsh chemicals.

Matte Ceramic Coating

Standard ceramic coatings add gloss. We use specially formulated matte ceramic coatings that offer UV protection to prevent fading, water repellent finish for easier maintenance and a streak free finish, and resistance against bug splatter, acid rain and other contaminants. As the coatings we use are carefully selected for matte paint protection, there is no shine or darkening to the finish.

Matte Paint Protection Film

For drivers who want even more matte paint protection, we offer matte-finish PPF. This film blends seamlessly with the existing finish, shields against stone chips and scratches, and self-heals under heat.

Interior Trim & Vinyl Care
